Garry Worger Bio
Short Version

My name is Garry Worger, and this website is somewhat autobiographical...

I'm a

  • bald
[you'll see a picture further down]
  • old
[born 1940, and I started building this website in 2016]
  • fat
[I'm working on this... SIGH... not too well I fear]
  • fart guy
[my editor thought I should tone this down]
  • "guy" with too much back pain over the last decade

I absolutely hate that pain... but mostly, it's gone.
I want you to experience the same pain relief that I have.

Garry Worger Bio
Long Version I am.

Welcome to my website Sore Back Relief.

I’ve got lots of suggestions for you on how to get rid of a sore back. Most people who try my ideas get relief and have less pain and more mobility.

The majority of these ideas are free for you to use.

Whenever a resource suggests that you purchase something… I will “point” you to place where you can purchase the required item[s] online.

I support myself and the development of this site through affiliate commissions from these, as well as any donations you care to make.

A brief biography of Garry Worger

I was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in late March, 1940.

I got my schooling in Edmonton and Calgary until I reached grade eight, when I moved to the village of Nobleford, in southern Alberta.

In grade 10, I moved to Vulcan, Alberta, returning to Calgary for the rest of high school and University.

I eventually ended up with 3 degrees
[B.Sc., B.Ed., M.Sc., plus an Honorary DD]

I started teaching in 1962. I’ve taught grade 5 – 12, all subjects.

In 1974 I got married and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, teaching mathematics, computer programming and computer applications in a Technical Institute.

My wife and I had 3 children, 1 girl and 2 boys. Those 3 are the joy of my life, along with my grandchildren.

I retired from the Institute in 2005… with over 42 years of teaching under my belt.

My motivation

I am designing this site to benefit 3 different “target populations”.

  1. My readers who want to overcome their sore backs.
    [YOU, in other words]
  2. My family
[a legacy for my children and grandchildren]
  3. Me, who loves website planning, creating, modifying, and expansion.
    [intellectual stimulation for me]
[a feeling of “doing good” for others]

Back pain and Garry Worger through the ages
[actually body pain and me...]

This will be quick.

I had the usual aches and pains due to clumsiness, sports, picking stuff up wrong, and a few broken bones.

How I got relief: physical and emotional

I used these [following] as needed, and [mostly] overcame those issues.

  • Acupuncture
  • Arts-Based Therapy
  • Chiropractic
  • Massage
  • Meditation
  • Physiotherapy
  • Pills
  • [OTC And Prescribed]
  • Rest
  • Yoga

HOWEVER, as an old guy

I have had the joy of

  • sore knees
  • sore ankles
  • sore lower back
[the most excruciating issue of the bunch]

  • sore hips
  • frozen shoulder
  • Repetitive Strain Injury [RSI] on my hands
[too much time on the computer]
  • Radial Head replacement
[from breaking a fall with my right arm, and destroying the head of the radius bone]

This is where my website idea was born.
Just HOW do I move past all these
and get pain relief...
especially sore back relief? is all about the TWO APPROACHES that I've discovered

  1. find "quick and dirty" relief methods to overcome that which caused me grief
    [GRIEF = pain and immobility]
  2. embrace long term "wellbeing": strategies that make my life more enjoyable
[ENJOYABLE = less hurtin' and more dancin']

Let me know how my ideas are working for you, please.
